Faith and Fellowship
Please join us for any of our upcoming “outings” (pardon the pun).
Gay Pride Parade
It is Pastor Laurie’s most fervent dream for the church to hold the title of “Best Float in the Gay Pride Parade.” To help make her dream come true, we are forming a Friends of Dorothy Committee to get organized for the Gay Pride Parade on Miami Beach, April 17, 2010, as well as to discuss other fellowship and outreach activities that Friends of Dorothy might want to do! If you can do mean things with chicken wire and tissue paper or you are just interested in helping out with our congregation’s GLBTQ fellowship and outreach., please contact Pierce Withers at piercew@ucc-cgcc.org or (305) 488-7421, ext. 113.

All women, regardless of age, are invited to join us as we gather on Saturday, March 27 and April 24, at 9:30 a.m. in the church library. As always a light breakfast is provided AND childcare as well! Come make new friends and join in the fun! We are continuing our conversation around the book, The Story of Ruth: Twelve Moments in Every Woman’s Life by Joan Chittister. The book explores a series of twelve defining moments in every woman’s life—moments such as loss, change, aging, insight, self-definition, invisibility, and fulfillment. Ruth has lessons to share with us about becoming a fully functioning person and a spiritual adult. This theme offers a great opportunity to spend some time with a very wise Biblical woman and some very supportive women in our faith community. The book is available from all major bookstores but you don’t need to read it to participate.

Our XYZ (Extra Years of Zest) group offers fun and informative activities and outings for CGCC seniors. We are organizing an outing to see Miss Saigon at the Actor’s Playhouse on Sunday, March 14. If you are interested in attending the show and in sharing a meal at the Lotus Garden Restaurant with our active and vibrant senior community, please contact Pierce Withers at piercew@ucc-cgcc.org or (305) 488-7421, ext. 113.
