Mystic Mondays
Mondays at 7:00 p.m.
Are you interested in deepening your faith? Would you like to be a part of some smaller groups devoted to spiritual growth? Then Mystic Monday is for you!!! Join us as we explore faith through Taizé Worship, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Evening Vespers, and the study of Celtic Spirituality. Childcare is provided.
On the first Monday of each month, a Taizé Service is held in Moye Chapel. This 40-minute service is modeled after the beautiful services that originated in Taizé, France at an ecumenical, international community founded there in 1940. A Taizé Prayer Service consists of music, song, gospel readings, quiet meditation, and chants. If you are seeking time to be quietly apart, to pray and listen to God, and to be in the presence of a worshiping community, this service may be just what you are seeking. There is no sermon, no offering, no choir, no announcements – just simple worship.
The second Monday of each month, we will gather to create beautiful prayer shawls to share with those who are ill or grieving. You do not have to know how to knit – someone will teach you. Please bring a pair of size 11 or 13 knitting needles or M, N, or P crochet hooks if you prefer to crochet. If you are looking for a ministry of prayer and care for others, this may be it. Come and help wrap someone in God’s love by creating a beautiful prayer shawl. The teapot will be on.
On the third Monday of each month, participate in an evening prayer service that follows the ancient practice of chanting psalms and reading scripture passages at sunset. Our Vesper worship includes Gregorian chants and ancient hymns as well as time for prayer and meditation. Come renew your spirit and light a candle with us.
On the fourth Monday of each month, we will gather to prayerfully reflect on the stages of human life as understood through Celtic spirituality. Using the theme, One Foot in Eden, from the book by the same name, you are invited to consider the invitation of birth, the innocence of childhood, the commitment of life’s middle years, and the wisdom of old age. Celtic spirituality holds that in every phase of the human journey we can affirm the goodness of life and the sense of awe that humans can discover in the act of living. Pastor Laurie will lead this gathering.

Welcome! From Careers to Crayons is a fun playgroup for kids as well as a support group for ex-career, stay-at-home moms looking to share mothering experiences and help their children develop social interaction skills. We meet every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. at various locations around Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and the South Miami areas. We have holiday parties, field trips, Mom’s Night Out, and more. It’s a great opportunity for parents and children to enjoy time together and make good friends. Our volunteer team, made up of 12 active members, takes on roles that include writing our monthly newsletter, making our holiday parties happen, coordinating our book club, and preparing creative crafts for toddlers. Upcoming events for September include MNO at Palm d’Ore, taking advantage of the Miami Spice Month, and a wonderful outing to see another Disney on Ice show. For more information, contact the group coordinator, Kelly Grant, via email at: www.fromcareerstocrayons@yahoo.com.

Amid the lush foliage of our meditation gardens and the grandeur of our new beautiful fountain, you enter into this more intimate setting where quiet prayer, a challenging message, and music from one of our gifted soloists is the order of the morning. 11 a.m. Sanctuary Service
Worship each Sunday morning
We gather in the beauty of our historic Spanish-style sanctuary to be engaged in meaningful worship which feeds our spiritual hungers. We are led in thoughtful prayer which expresses our deepest needs; we listen to stimulating sermons which stretch our vision; and we learn to recognize God’s grace in our lives. Our outstanding choirs provide music which makes our souls soar. It is said that each week is a bit different; but every week there is something that challenges and calls us to be more than we thought possible. No matter where you are on your faith journey; you will find a place with us. Sunday School and childcare is available during this service.
